  • Update from: Anne Field nee Costley.

Following graduation I was one of the resident house officers at the MRI to Prof Moore and Miss Gillbe. Despite enjoying the post I decided that OMFS was not for me so I trained in Oral Medicine and never looked back. I have held joint NHS & academic consultant appointments culminating in Clinical Director’s post at Liverpool Dental Hospital.

Following retirement I became a Specialist Advisor for CQC and then returned to the Dental Hospital part-time. I now enjoy cycling with my husband and spending time with our daughters and grandchildren (4 with another on the way).

  • Update from: Rachid Chamda

Following graduation I was a house officer at the Dental Hospital then did a short stint in general practice in Oldham before returning home to South Africa where I began pursuing an academic career.

I obtained three Masters Degrees and was awarded a Fellowship in Orthodontics. Presently I am a part time Specialist Orthodontic Consultant at the University of Witwatersrand having previously being a Specialist Visiting Consultant at the
University of Pretoria. I was appointed visiting professor at the State University of New York-Buffalo.

I was elected Vice President/Secretary of the college of Dentistry and am presently the main examiner/convener in the branch of Orthodontics having served as a Senator in the Colleges of Medicine.

I have been appointed to a number of editorial boards and received invitations to be keynote speaker at conferences in many countries from the USA, North Africa, the Middle East to China and Japan.

In 2014 I was awarded the Thomas Edison Award for Inspiration and Knowledge
    Distribution among young research scholars.

I am married to Shahida, a specialist Dermatologist and have three children.
