We are sorry to announce the passing of Dr Hilary Firestone.
Dr Firestone graduated from Birmingham in 1980. She started working at Manchester Dental School in 1985 as a Restorative tutor. She also worked in general practice and as an expert witness.
She was passionate about teaching and she was the favourite tutor of hundreds of our students. Not only was Hilary a tutor, but also a friend and confidante to many undergraduates. Hilary was vibrant and full of life and enthusiasm. She exuded glamour, even on clinic in her tunic and heels!
In January 2022, she was diagnosed with cancer. Teaching at Manchester Dental School for 37 years, she became an icon at the Dental School who will be so sorely missed.
